Zhao Dongyuan wins TWAS-Lenovo Prize for outstanding work in the basic sciences (UNESCO - United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization)

(Source: UNESCO - United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Chinese materials scientist Zhao Dongyuan was given the 2016 TWAS-Lenovo Science Prize today for his work discovering new materials that are now widely used, notably innovative nano-sized materials that could be used to clean water, deliver medicine and improve batteries. The award, one of the most prestigious honours given to scientists from the developing world, was announced in a special ceremony during the yearly General Meeting of The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries (TWAS), a UNESCO Programme, in Kigali, Rwanda.
