The façade of a second-century Roman amphitheater and another ancient monument in the historic city of Palmyra, Syria have been destroyed by Islamic State militants, according to a Syrian state-run news agency reported by the New York Times Friday. SANA, the news agency, said ISIS had destroyed part of the amphitheater and severely damaged a tetrapylon, a square structure of four plinths, each with four columns.
