When Dr Ho Weng Kee was a young girl, her biggest ambition was to be a kindergarten teacher. And while she never achieved that dream, Ho grew up to be a scientist instead – a statistician, to be exact. Currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at University Of Nottingham Malaysia, Ho is one of the three grant recipients of the 2017 L’Oreal-Unesco Awards: National Fellowship programme. The other recipients are Dr Jasy Liew Suet Yan and Dr Teh Su Yean, both from Universiti Sains Malaysia.
